Manufacturing and Assembly Process
Our manufacturing and assembly process is designed to create high quality homes at a very competitive final cost.
DESIGN & PREFABRICATION
The concept for the LIGHTHOUSE originated in New Zealand and has been patented by Don Dunick. The structure and components are engineered in New Zealand by Lighthouse utilizing high technology structural steel fabrication. Each LIGHTHOUSE is custom crafted in New Zealand manufacturing facilities. All of the components and structural elements that fashion a LIGHTHOUSE are custom crafted. Manufacturing in a controlled environment ensures a consistently high level of quality.
SITE PREPARATION
While the client’s structure is being prefabricated, the foundation is prepared and poured based on client’s particular site characteristics. Due to the assembly process, site excavation and clearing is minimized. Smaller foundation footprints based on the pedestal enables the LIGHTHOUSE to be built on environmentally sensitive sites where traditional building types would be prohibitive or impossible. Trees can also be left closer to the perimeter of the house as their root systems are not disturbed by the foundation.
ASSEMBLY
The factory prefabricates the structural components, high quality windows and all other components, which are then shipped by container to a client’s site, where an approved local contractor assisted by a skilled technician precisely assembles them. This ensures consistently high levels of build quality.
By rationalization of the manufacturing process in New Zealand with shipping worldwide to a clients’ site for assembly, reductions in both cost and timesaving are achieved in the construction process. Despite the highly sophisticated steel and glass structure (design as well as materials), LIGHTHOUSE is able to provide this type of structure at competitive prices.
LIGHTHOUSE currently offer 3 models with 2 variations of each model. Within each model the pricing is made up of three Building Package components. See our building options page for more information.
