About Lighthouse

Lighthouse Developments was founded almost 20 years ago in New Zealand to facilitate building a pedestal, revolving house. This design has appropriately been named ‘the lighthouse’.

From ‘an interesting idea’ the principals of Lighthouse Development took the initiative to conduct a comprehensive overseas feasibility study and research into standards, specifications and designs, and adapted the available information to the NZ Building Code.

The first Lighthouse prototype was completed in July 2000 giving people the opportunity to visit and experience the many benefits it has over a conventional fixed house.

The Lighthouse mandate is to manufacture and sell its rotating steel and glass structures for the residential house industry and commercial development industry in controlled environments, with the structural components shipped by containers, erected on site, with interiors finished according to how a client has chosen based on the client’s desire and budget. The Lighthouse flexible design provides the client with complete freedom in interior design since there are no interior structural walls needed.
